Happy New Year! All of us here at Exceptional Smiles by Gregory M. Solich, DDS hope 2017 is shaping up to be a year of joy for you and your family. To make sure your smile looks as attractive as possible, we’d like to review the many cosmetic dentistry treatments offered in our office. Whether you want to mend a chipped tooth or create an entirely new look, Colorado Springs cosmetic dentist Dr. Solich has the procedure that will give you the Smile of the Year!
One of our most requested cosmetic dentistry treatments is teeth whitening, and it’s no wonder. Teeth whitening is a safe and effective procedure that can give you a smile that is several shades whiter. Choose either the Zoom! or Kör teeth whitening in-office system for results in about one hour. Alternatively, we can give you customized mouth trays and bleaching gel so you can whiten your teeth more gradually at home.
Cosmetic bonding is a simple procedure that can transform the appearance of a tooth. By applying a small amount of composite resin material, Dr. Solich can reshape a chipped tooth, enlarge a tooth that is too small or conceal a permanent stain or discoloration.
The same composite resin material that can rebuild an imperfect tooth is also strong enough to repair a tooth that has a cavity. Dr. Solich clears away decay and then prepares the tooth for the filling.
If a filling cannot adequately restore a decayed tooth, or if you have a tooth with a penetrating crack or deep fracture, then Dr. Solich will likely recommend a porcelain crown. Also called a dental cap, this completely encapsulates a tooth in order to preserve the remaining structure and restore form and function.
Would you like a do-over on the smile Mother Nature gave you? Then consider porcelain veneers. Made of strong dental porcelain just like a crown, these thin sheaths are bonded to the facial side of teeth that show when you smile.
If you are missing teeth, then Dr. Solich can create a fixed bridge of false teeth that attaches to adjacent teeth in order to remain firmly in place. Alternatively, a dental implant replaces not only the crown of a missing tooth but also the root with a titanium post that is surgically placed in your jawbone.
Laser Gum Lifts
For a smile that looks gummy, Dr. Solich uses laser energy to remove excess gum and expose more tooth structure, for a more pleasing smile and gum line.
