Dental Implants in Colorado Springs

If you are missing one or more teeth, there is perhaps no better choice for tooth replacement than dental implants. Around for several decades, implants mimic the actual structure of one of your teeth. Unlike a bridge or denture that merely replaces the crown of a tooth so your smile looks complete, an implant also replaces the root. Thus, your smile is complete and your jawbone is stimulated by a root substitute so you are far less likely to suffer bone deterioration.

Dr. Solich is able to perform all phases of dental implant restoration. After evaluating your mouth, gums and bone to make sure you are a qualified candidate for implants, he will carefully make a incision in your gum in order to secure the implant in bone. After a period of healing when the implant and surrounding bone fuse, you’ll return to have Dr. Solich attach the abutment that will connect the implant to your tooth restoration. The final step involves affixing the appropriate restoration to the abutment—a porcelain crown for a single missing tooth, a fixed bridge for several or an implant-retained denture if you are edentulous.

Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™)

In lieu of a scalpel and sutures to remedy the problems of gum recession, Dr. Solich now uses the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™). This process is far less invasive than traditional gum surgery and recovery time is easier and shorter.

With the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™), Dr. Solich uses a very small needle to create a pinhole in your gums. Through this tiny opening, special instruments are inserted to gently move gum tissue over exposed teeth roots. The gums are stabilized with special collagen strips. The Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) causes less bleeding and swelling and most patients can manage discomfort with an over-the-counter analgesic.
