Dr. James E. Orban
Dr. Orban is our periodontal specialist, which means his primary focus is on providing treatments for the gums and other tissues that surround and support the teeth. He’s also our expert for dental implant placement! He’s originally from Chicago, but he and his parents moved to Colorado Springs when he was just seven, and he’s been proud to call it his home ever since. Dr. Orban gives our practice the ability to provide many specialty services in-house, saving patients from having to waste time on expensive referrals. After graduating from Colorado College in 1962, Dr. Orban achieved his dental degree at the prestigious Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Immediately thereafter, he received his Masters of Science in Periodontics from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
Over the course of his 50+ year career, he has taken an extensive amount of continuing education in all aspects of both periodontology and dental implants. To him, the best kind of dentist is the one that never stops learning.

- American Academy of Periodontology

Life Outside of Dentistry
Away from the office, Dr. Orban enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, including running, hiking, climbing, camping, skiing, and four-wheeling. An avid traveler, he also likes to dedicate much of his free time to the Children’s International Dental Project, which he has personally led since 1987. It’s an organization that provides free dental care primarily to underserved children around the world. In the past, he and the Project have helped people in Nepal, India, Bhutan, Samoa, Venezuela, Argentina, Senegal, Madagascar, Ecuador, St. Vincent’s, Costa Rica, and Kenya.
